1. Devwah Whaley posts his second 100-yard game of the season

Whaley was supposed to be the heir apparent to Rawleigh Williams in the Arkansas backfield this season. Williams’ unexpected retirement meant those expectations were cranked up several notches and the sophomore hasn’t lived up to them quite yet.

Instead of seizing the starting job for himself, a handful of uninspiring outings from him to start the season resulted in a time-share between himself, David Williams and freshman Chase Hayden. With Hayden sidelined by injuries, Williams and Whaley have split the load.

Fewer opportunities have led to a reduced stat line for Whaley, but his effectiveness when he’s been in the game has left much to be desired. Whaley hasn’t had a 100-yard rushing performance since the New Mexico game. He’s seen 12 carries in each of the last four games but topped out at 81 yards against Coastal Carolina.

He’s running out of time to make a lasting impression in 2017. The Missouri defense ranks 10th in the SEC against the run and is allowing 166.3 yards on the ground per game. This is Whaley’s shot to break the century mark again.
