UCLA Football: 5 reasons Chip Kelly would be a great fit with Bruins

4. Coached in California before

Coaching in a certain state does not seem like a very convincing reason for a coach like Kelly to return. Just because he was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers does not mean that he would be successful at a college in the same state.

However, California is a very unique coaching culture in the state, especially in college. Very few coaches have been successful over a long period of time. Stanford head coach David Shaw is really the only one right now.

Kelly would seem to be a seamless transition to a program like UCLA. With second-year USC head coach Clay Helton not being the most experienced in the nation, Kelly could immediately take control of Southern California.

If Kelly were to take this job, it would mean bad things for the Trojans. That would make UCLA fans even happier to see their biggest rival become the second best program in this certain area of the state.
