UCLA Football: 5 reasons Chip Kelly would be a great fit with Bruins

1. Easier to turn around than the Florida Gators

It’s not like the Bruins are the only team going after Kelly. He’s one of the hottest names on the coaching market right now. There’s also a good chance that Kelly decides to stay in retirement and forego a few premier coaching destinations.

Yet, the two favorites to land Kelly right now are the Bruins and the Florida Gators. While Florida is one of the best programs in college football, a quality coach in Jim McElwain was forced out already.

We’ve seen the PAC-12 taken over by three teams that were not normally there over the past decade. The Washington Huskies, Washington State Cougars, and Stanford Cardinal are all competing in the PAC-12 North because of solid head coaches.

The PAC-12 is a conference made up by its head coaches. Meanwhile, the SEC is a conference commanded by the Alabama Crimson Tide. McElwain won two straight SEC East Championships at Florida, and that’s it. UCLA is the option with the least resistance to success.
