2. Drew Lock deserves more national exposure

Missouri quarterback Drew Lock’s name isn’t coming up much in the national media spotlight. That’s understandable. Lock plays for a Missouri team that started the season 1-5 and plays in the underwhelming SEC East. With no national brand like Georgia or Florida on his jersey the junior quarterback hasn’t garnered nearly enough respect.

He won’t be ignored any more. That’s because when you hope open the SEC record books you’ll see Lock’s name at the forefront. The gunslinger broke the all-time SEC record for passing touchdowns in a senior season on Saturday. He passed the likes of Florida great Danny Wuerffel and recent Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel. That’s good company to keep.

Lock finished the day 25-of-42 passing for 448 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. Unfortunately for him the Tigers don’t have much of a defense. He’s had to air it out for every win the Tigers have earned this season, contributing towards his record year that’s not done yet. Lock will have one more game, Missouri’s bowl appearance, to add to his record-breaking season.
