1. No. 25 Virginia Tech vs Virginia

One of the in-state rivalry games that will take place this week when the Hokies out of Virginia Tech will take on the Cavaliers out of Virginia. Only a two hour drive separates these two schools and they will meet once again in this season’s edition of Rivalry Week. Virginia has only been able to beat Tech once since Michael Vick left… but they could add a win to that stat Friday night.

The two teams will go under the lights at Scott Stadium on Friday in a game that has almost everyone excited. Virginia has built a program that is better than most they have had in recent years. The Hokies are coming into this matchup banged up more than ever with almost every position featuring an injured player. Redshirt freshman quarterback, Josh Jackson, has struggled as of late and will meet a tough defense in the Cavaliers.

Both teams are coming into this game optimistic, but I think the Cavaliers will come into this game with more momentum as they will try to build their own resumé heading into bowl season. Both teams are already bowl eligible making this matchup even more intriguing. I fully expect this game to come down to the better defense and who can stop the opposing quarterback. Virginia Tech will need Josh Jackson to step up as the Cavaliers will try to pressure on the freshman.
