Beating Ole Miss in 2013 might be the most gratifying win for the Bulldogs in the history of this rivalry. Current Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott led Mississippi State to the 17-10 victory at Davis-Wade Stadium.

Hugh Freeze was in the prime of his run with the Rebels, with Bo Wallace as the starting quarterback. Ole Miss had a solid offense this year that Mullen and the Bulldogs were able to shut down completely through four quarters and overtime.

Yet, Prescott was the true hero of this win with a game tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, coming off the bench, and powering the Bulldogs to the victory in overtime. It kicked off quite the career with Prescott in Starkville.

Ole Miss dominated the Egg Bowl between 2012 and 2015, with this being the only win for the Bulldogs. That made it even more bittersweet for the Mississippi State faithful. Mullen had a hard time overcoming Freeze, but he was able to do so in 2013.
