53. . QB. Louisville. Lamar Jackson. 11. player

The Cleveland Browns locked up the most dynamic running back in this year’s draft by taking Saquon Barkley with the No. 1 overall pick. Now they’ll pair him with the most dynamic player in college football. Lamar Jackson might not be getting any Heisman Trophy love, but that doesn’t mean NFL teams haven’t noticed the progress he’s made this season.

For once the most obvious pick is the right one. Jackson’s calmness in the pocket and his ability to keep plays alive with his legs are second to none in the college game. Every passer in this draft class has their own questions. Even the two off the board before Jackson have rough edges.

Jackson is one of the few passers that could step in from day one. His raw talent makes him a scoring threat on every play in a way unlike any other quarterback available. Given how the Browns have handled their rotating mess of quarterbacks this year it’s hard too imagine them letting any passer the draft to sit much longer than a few weeks.

For the sixth straight week Jackson tallied more than 100 yards rushing. He rushed for 156 yards in the Governor’s Cup win over Kentucky. He also completed 15 of 21 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
