NFL Mock Draft 2018: Complete first round after Week 13
Baltimore needs receiver help. Jeremy Maclin was brought in this season to give Joe Flacco more options through the air, but he hasn’t been as effective as he once was.
The 29-year-old receiver has just 31 receptions for a team-leading 344 yards and 31-year-old wide out Mike Wallace is second on the team with 24 catches for 323 yards. This team lacks a true No. 1 receiver and Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk could provide that.
Although he’s not a big wide out, standing just 5-foot-11 and weighing 200 pounds, Kirk has the potential to be one of those dependable pass-catchers that just terrorizes opposing defenses. He is a pass-catching machine, racking up over 80 in each of his first two years with the Aggies, but he finished the 2017 regular season with 58 for 730 yards and seven scores despite lackluster quarterback play.
Kirk will likely forgo his senior season and he’s surely ready for the next level. He could be a guy who catches 5-7 passes per game for 60-70 yards and a touchdown. Every team needs a reliable target like that, especially for a quarterback like Flacco to succeed.
