Many believe the Jaguars need to add more pass-catchers at the receiver position and I tend to agree with that to a degree. This season has been proof that no depth is safe when the No. 1 option goes down in the first month of the year.

Allen Robinson went down early in the season due to a torn ACL and the depth was tested. Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns were then looked to as the top options with Dede Westbrook, a top pick from last year’s draft class, recently returning from injury to make his NFL debut.

Yes, it would seem as if the Jaguars could use some receiver help, but Robinson will return and Westbrook is only going to get better. Lee is a solid No. 2 or No. 3 option and Hurns provides plenty of depth. Instead, Jacksonville should go with a talented tight end here to help the passing game in a different way.

Penn State’s Mike Gesicki is the top tight end in the draft class and could be an instant contributor for the Jaguars. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound tight end would be a nice, shiny new toy for Blake Bortles and he has elite pass-catching abilities. He has 51 receptions for 501 yards and nine touchdowns in 2017.
