1. A Volunteer

The best option to take the reins in Knoxville as the head coach of the University of Tennessee next season is an actual Tennessee Volunteer. The selection process is still in the works, but you can just imagine that the pool of potential volunteers would be plenty deep enough to choose from.

How many people were sitting on their couch this season yelling at the tv, “Oh c’mon, I could have done that!” Here’s their chance. The rich tradition of Tennessee would be showcased by letting an real volunteer (from Tennessee, of course) be the Vols next coach. Plus, there’s the added bonus of saving a ton of money – volunteers work for free.

If this were to be as accurate as possible it might be worth considering rotating volunteers since the appropriate moniker is the plural form not just the solitary volunteer. It might be hard to have several people coaching at once, so perhaps it might be worth nominating one volunteer to lead the team each week. Another option could be announcing one volunteer for each task – one to call plays, another in charge of timeouts, one more assigned to the film room for post game analysis. The possibilities are endless.

At this point it’s hard to say what exactly is going on at Tennessee. Their coaching search has certainly become one of the more interesting searches in recent history. If all else fails fly Lane Kiffin back to Knoxville under cover of darkness just to see what happens next. What could go wrong?
