Lately, Lane Kiffin has shown the ability to make quarterbacks better than what they really are.

Kiffin won a National Championship with Jake Coker and Cooper Bateman, mediocre at best. Then the next year turned freshman Jalen Hurts into a star. And since Kiffin, we haven’t seen Hurts look as good as his freshman season. Some of his stats are higher, but it just doesn’t seem like it translating into better results.

Many believe, me being one of them, that if Kiffin would have coached the National Championship, Alabama would have won.

If you look at this year, he has given Jason Driskel his best year of collegiate career. He has improved his completion percentage by more than five percent, has thrown three more touchdowns and seven less interceptions, improved his QBR and passer rating and got sacked 18 less times.

Driskel and Kiffin did that all with 101 less pass attempts. And that’s just since in the last season. Remember he also coached a Heisman-winning quarterback.

If he can do all of that for Driskel, Hurts, Coker and Bateman, working with Deondre Francois should be easy.
