2. Resources available to make the Hogs a contender

Other factors that could help the Hogs up the offer for Malzahn include promises to improve facilities and support from the fan base. Arkansas fans would get a great situation if Malzahn comes to Fayetteville with all the resources improving around him.

Malzahn is a born and bred SEC West coach. He’s one of the few that consistently finds success in the conference and at the national level. Arkansas is a traditionally strong program that can take advantage of what could be some down years for the Ole Miss Rebels, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Auburn (if he leaves).

Bielema showed in 2015 that the Hogs can hang with and take care of business against LSU, Auburn, Mizzou, etc. The talent is still there on the roster, especially on offense. Running backs like Devwah Whaley and Chase Hayden have a bright future alongside freshman quarterback Cole Kelley.

It’s a good sign that the Arkansas Board of Directors is pursuing Malzahn to the greatest extent. That shows the Hogs are willing to put an investment into the entire program, from the top-level, to surround a premier coach with great resources.
