2. Improved multiple stat categories

The area that Jackson will improve his stats this year is yards per carry and completion percentage. Head coach Bobby Petrino used Jackson is a more effective way this year. Considering Jackson had the target on his back this year after having a breakout season in 2016, he handled the situation at hand very well.

Jackson will set a career high in yards per carry, with 6.9, and completion percentage, at 60.4. A strong performance against Mississippi State will also get Jackson beyond his rushing yards total from last year. And, he’ll easily eclipse his passing yardage from last year.

To set a career mark in passing yards, Jackson needs just 54 in the bowl game. The rushing yard record is going to be tougher, since he’d need to go well over 100 yards. However, if Jackson was able to show improvement from a Heisman winning season, he deserves a great shot again in 2017.

Louisville might get to the same amount of wins that they did a season ago. However, it won’t be with as much grace. A more experienced Jackson did not let this Louisville team slide too far down the stretch.
