5. National Championship experience

It was not too long ago that Fisher won a National Championship in the final BCS Title Game. FSU was led by a freshman Jameis Winston at quarterback and ran through the ACC without problem. Fisher was also one of the few coaches in the ACC that could compete with Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney in the last few years.

No one expects Fisher to take the Aggies to the College Football Playoff next year, but at least racking up more than eight wins. It won’t take too much improvement for the Aggies to reach the point of national contention.

Fisher isn’t taking over a program that struggled the last few years. Texas A&M at least finishes in the middle of the SEC West every year. The championship experience Fisher has should give the Aggies that extra jolt needed.

Finding coaches who have a recent National Championship on the open market just does not happen. Fisher so recently found a path to success by winning that 2013 Title, he can implement the same culture with Texas A&M.
