1. Morris brings new energy

The reason the Razorbacks didn’t improve under Bret Bielema is because the players didn’t buy into his system. The reason Chad Morris continued to get better at SMU was because his players bought into his system.

Bielema ran the team like a Big Ten squad and no one in the south wants that. Even Alabama uses the spread a lot nowadays. Arkansas had no flash on offense and it relied too much on the run game and the defense. It’s very hard for a bunch of 18-22 year olds to buy into that kind of system. They want to have fun while winning and Morris should be able to bring that new energy.

For most of his career in college football, he was a coordinator under one of the most energetic coaches today, Dabo Swinney. He had to pick up something from Swinney.

And that’s what Arkansas is banking on. They want Morris to bring that fast paced offense and that Dabo-like energy to Fayetteville. It seems like Razorback fans haven’t been happy since Darren McFadden left for the NFL.
