While this bowl game victory was not as significant in the college football landscape as the 2013 Cotton Bowl win, it was more exciting. The Aggies were down for most of this contest against head coach David Cutcliffe’s Duke Blue Devils.

This was also the best season in recent memory for Duke. Manziel took a Texas A&M squad down by 20 at halftime, and roared back for a four point victory. Moreover, Manziel totaled five touchdowns, which was ultimately too much for the Duke defense to handle.

A 55-yard interception return for a touchdown by Toney Hurd Jr. sealed the victory for the Aggies, as Duke quarterback Anthony Boone made a costly mistake when it mattered most. Boone tossed two picks while Manziel didn’t have any.

Running back Tra Carson was also vital to the win for the Aggies in the 2013 Chick-Fil-A Bowl. He scampered for a 21 yard touchdown run that got Texas A&M back into the game at 38-31. This was one of the most entertaining bowl games of the 2013-2014 postseason altogether.
