Lee Corso made his College GameDay headgear selection this morning for the Army-Navy game. Did he take the Black Knights or his beloved Midshipmen?

College GameDay is back at the Army-Navy game for the fourth consecutive year. Both teams are going to a bowl game, but this is the game that really matters. The winner will take home the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy and, more importantly, bragging rights across the U.S. Military for the next year. Navy is looking to get back on top after their 14-game winning streak ended last season. Will Lee Corso ride with Navy once again?

Corso has picked Navy the three previous times College GameDay has been in town for the Army-Navy game. This is not shocking because he was an assistant coach at Navy from 1966 to 1968. He is 2-1 picking the Midshipmen.

It is currently snowing in Philadelphia, but there are not two offenses in the country more suited to that kind of weather than Army and Navy. The Black Knights are the nation’s top rushing offense at 368.1 yards per game. The Midshipmen are second with 347.5 yards per game.

The snow might be a sign of destiny for Army. The Black Knights, ironically given their nickname, are wearing all-white uniforms to honor the 10th Mountain division.  Navy is wearing uniforms in the style of the famous Blue Angels.

Navy is favored by three points, which is a little surprising if you haven’t been following the two teams that closely. Army is 8-3 and Navy is 6-5. However, Army has played next to no one compared to their water-loving counterparts, who play in the American Athletic West. Navy has lost five of their last six games. Army is coming off a 52-49 loss to North Texas.

Let’s go to the pick:

After following the headgear picks closely for a full season, it’s fairly easy to pick up on a pattern and predict who Corso is going to pick with his headgear selection. Corso picking Navy is the easiest call of all-time. Corso is loyal to a fault and loves favorites. The Goat headgear has been ready for Corso all week. I doubt Army even brought an extra Mule head.
