2. Josh Adams, RB

Unlike Nelson, standout running back Josh Adams has a much more difficult decision to make in terms of entering the NFL Draft. After making the jump from an injury ravished season to one of the nation’s best running backs, Adams will have to decide what’s best for his prospective NFL career.

With such a top-heavy 2018 running back draft class, does the junior out of Pennsylvania opt to play out another year in hopes for a more favorable outcome in the draft? Or does he enter the draft this year and trust in his abilities to climb into NFL relevancy? Recently, Irish running backs haven’t seen much success as featured backs in the NFL, but Adams isn’t a typical Irish back.

Currently, the Irish boast two running backs who have carved out roles for themselves in their respective offenses. Theo Riddick has found some success in the Detroit Lions’ pass game, while C.J. Prosise has done the same with the Seattle Seahawks. However, Adams has the ability to establish himself as a three-down back in the NFL should he carry over his college success.

While Adams has struggled as of late after putting together a Heisman-caliber campaign throughout the majority of the season, a solid outing against a historically stout LSU defense could give him some more leverage in proving himself worthy of a higher draft selection.
