AutoNation Cure Bowl

Western Kentucky vs. Georgia State

Location: Orlando, Florida
Date: Saturday, Dec. 16
Time: 2:30 p.m. ET

Western Kentucky (6-6) finished third in the Conference USA East. The Hilltoppers got off to a hot start, winning five of their first seven games. However, the second half of their season was not so kind, the only win they earned after Oct. 20 came in triple overtime against Middle Tennessee.

Georgia State (6-5) finished fourth in the Sun Belt, ending their season with consecutive losses in which they were outscored by a combined margin of 55-20.

Neither of these teams brings in an explosive offense. WKU averages 26.2 points per game while Georgia State averages 19.7. The edge in this one goes to the Hilltoppers because of their effectiveness on third downs. They convert on 44.2 percent of their third down tries, 29th best in the nation. Longer drives lead to more scoring chances and the edge in what should be a close game.

Prediction: Western Kentucky 24, Georgia State 21
