Las Vegas Bowl

Oregon vs Boise State

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Date: Saturday, Dec. 16
Time: 3:30 p.m. ET

Oregon (7-5) will be bowling without their head coach, Willie Taggart, who left the Ducks after just one season to take the vacated Florida State head coaching position. Mario Cristobal has been named the interim coach for the Duck’s bowl game. They’ll face ever-dangerous Boise State (10-3), champions of the Mountain West Conference.

Both Oregon and Boise State fans have a hard time forgetting the last time these two programs met. The Broncos won 37-32, but it was a skirmish after the game that drew the most attention. Former Ducks running back LeGarrette Blount threw a devastating punch that connected with celebratory Broncos defensive end Byron Hout, knocking him to the turf.

There’s no Blount to punch back for the Ducks in this one. Oregon has been much improved since starting quarterback Justin Herbert returned from injury, but the Broncos just don’t allow many points. Three opponents have topped 24 points against them this year and the Ducks will be the next victim.

Prediction: Oregon 21, Boise State 41
