Offensive Guard. Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Quenton Nelson. 20. player. 36.

Some NFL Draft Big Boards have Notre Dame offensive guard Quenton Nelson among the top five players in this class. Yet, the need for offensive guard is not as large as the need for tackle, along the line this year.

However, a team like the Seattle Seahawks has a need for a lineman the pedigree of Nelson at guard, tackle, and center. It’s time for the Seahawks to allow their franchise quarterback, Russell Wilson, some actual time to throw from the pocket.

Seattle’s offensive line is so bad, that head coach Pete Carroll had to build the offense around Wilson getting the ball off in a matter of a few seconds. With the Seahawks trying to keep homegrown players on the defense while they’re commanding large dollar amounts, the offensive line suffered. Nelson can start the turnaround on Seattle’s line.
