4. Josh Adams isn’t NFL-ready

Like the Brandon Wimbush criticism, calling Josh Adams out for having a rough end to the 2017 regular season is unwarranted. He exceeded all expectations even though he fell off in the final four games, finishing with 1,386 yards and nine touchdowns on a career-best 7.3 yards per carry.

Sure, those numbers looked to be on pace to finish much higher after eight games, but every young player goes through minor slumps and his happened to be in the final month. Heck, that was the team’s slump, as a whole.

Adams is NFL-ready, whether fans want to believe it or not. Will he go pro? That remains to be seen as he could probably improve his stock next season with a more consistent finish. Scouts don’t like to see drop-offs, but he did average 7.3 yards per touch and has an NFL-ready 6-foot-2, 225-pound frame.

Don’t knock this kid’s season as he improved in just about every category, looked explosive and has a bruising frame. He may not have remained in the Heisman race after the final four games, but he still broke out as a national star.
