The depth in the receiving corps should be strong in 2018, but Notre Dame could lose its best overall wide receiver. Junior Equanimeous St. Brown has the tools to become a solid NFL receiver and he can declare early at the end of the 2017 campaign.

While sophomores Kevin Stepherson and Chase Claypool should highlight the receiving corps in 2018 for the Irish, neither will play in the Citrus Bowl. Stepherson might not play another game for Notre Dame following an indefinite suspension from the team.

With a lot of question marks surrounding the wide receivers for the Irish in 2018, an injection of new talent could be exactly what’s needed. Wimbush still needs some quality targets to look to as he tries to develop into a complete passer.

Four-star wide receiver Kevin Austin is the fourth best player in the recruiting class right now, and is the best at his position. Austin ranks as the 14th best receiver in the nation, and 16th best prospect out of Florida. He chose Notre Dame while having offers from in-state powers like the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles.
