Ole Miss Football: 3 early signees who will make an instant impact
One of the most surprising commits of the Early Signing Day for 2017 was Elijah Moore decommitting from UGA to join the Rebels. Moore had offers from nearly every big SEC program and decided to move quite a ways from his home, compared to where he would have been with UGA.
He also held offers from Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, the Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, and Wisconsin Badgers. UGA, Miami, and Ole Miss were the three favorites to land Moore in the end.
Moreover, Ole Miss does have a proven track record of developing receivers. Just look at sophomore A.J. Brown, who just broke the single-season Ole Miss receiving yards record this year. Brown is due for stardom at both the college and pro level.
With the transfer of sophomore Van Jefferson, to join the Gators, there’s a spot open for Moore to come in and have an impact on the receiving corps immediately. He’s the only four-star commit at wide receiver for Ole Miss and he has a chance to be a favorite target of starting quarterback Jordan Ta’amu in 2018.
