The Jesuit High School product, from Portland, OR, was a favorite to go to Eugene and join the Ducks. However, four-star all-purpose running back Trey Lowe committed the Huskies back in March and never even took another visit since.

Lowe is next in line to take over for senior running back Lavon Coleman, after his eligibility runs out at the end of the year. Furthermore, even junior running back Myles Gaskin could declare early for the 2018 NFL Draft and put Lowe in a position to get the bulk of the carries next season.

Of the 11 offensive players that signed early with the Huskies, Lowe could be the most polarizing of them all. His best performance in high school saw him put up 358 yards and seven touchdowns in just a first half alone. He could also be a big time contributor for UW on special teams.

Gaskin and Coleman have been the lifeline of the Huskies’ ground game over the past two seasons. But, there’s a chance that one or both could be gone in 2018. Lowe should get a decent amount of playing time in his first year either way.
