If there’s anything that Rhule needs in the upcoming seasons, on both sides of the ball, it’s versatile players. That’s exactly what four-star athlete, and Desoto, TX, product B.J. Hanspard brings to the table.

Hanspard is one of the four-star recruits that Rhule landed in this talented class of commits. He can play both defensive back and wide receiver, and he’ll likely get looks in both spots during Spring and Fall Camp in 2018.

With good size and athleticism, Hanspard has the tools necessary to compete for a starting spot on both offense and defense for Baylor. His natural position at Desoto High School was mainly cornerback, and that’s likely where Baylor needs him the most.

Baylor’s secondary fought hard in 2017, but a talent upgrade is much-needed. If Hanspard shows potential at cornerback, he’ll compete with rising juniors Grayland Arnold and Jameson Houston for playing time in the secondary. Playing in the Big 12, Baylor could also use more options in the secondary.
