Three-star athlete Leddie Brown had one of the more decorated high school careers of any West Virginia signee. Brown had stretches through his junior and senior seasons where he looked like one of the best high school running backs in the nation.

He has a home-run threat aspect to him that the Mountaineers do not really have with any rusher returning in 2018. There was more than one occasion where Brown amassed at least six touchdowns over two game stretches.

Brown will definitely get the chance to make his mark with West Virginia in 2018. The departure of senior running back Justin Crawford gives some young backs on the roster a chance to step up. Sophomore running back Kennedy McKoy is expected to get the bulk of the workload next year.

Even though Brown is listed as an athlete, he’s likely to end up as a running back in Morgantown. He’ll battle rising junior running back Martell Pettaway for some carries behind McKoy. But, that does not deny the fact that Brown brings a very unique ability to West Virginia’s backfield.
