Arizona State Football: 5 bold predictions for Sun Devils vs NC State in Sun Bowl
By Zach Bigalke
4. N’Keal Harry will have a huge game receiving for Arizona State
N’Keal Harry was a breakout star for the Pac-12 this season. The sophomore receiver finished second in the conference in receiving, catching 73 passes for 1,000 yards and seven scores. His biggest games came in September against Texas Tech and Oregon. Harry snagged 13 catches for 148 yards and a touchdown against the Red Raiders. He followed that up with seven receptions for 170 yards and a score against the Ducks.
Though he didn’t go back over 100 receiving yards in a game since that Oregon win, that is a testament to defenses focusing on negating his opportunities to make plays. Harry has still steadily shown off his skills throughout the season, and the Sun Bowl offers the perfect opportunity for him to break out for a national audience outside of the #Pac12AfterDark crowd.
NC State gives up 245 passing yards per game, ranking 95th in yards allowed and 49th in opponent passing efficiency. Harry will be able to find the soft spots in the Wolfpack secondary and have a huge day. More importantly, he is a versatile receiver that can adjust to counter defensive adjustments and continue to burn NC State’s susceptible secondary.
Look for Harry to have his first 100-yard receiving day since September. With NC State kept off balance by a strong Sun Devils backfield, Harry will churn up the yardage and light up the scoreboard. The talented sophomore will set himself up as a 2018 Biletnikoff Award shortlist nominee as he goes off for at least 125 yards and a pair of scores on 10 or more catches.
