5. Memphis doesn’t want this great season to end on a bad note

Head coach Mike Norvell has led this program to its second 10-win season in the history of the program. The other person who led them to a 10-win season was Justin Fuente who is now the head coach at Virginia Tech. Norvell is on a similar path of Fuente.

Against Iowa State, Memphis will give itself a chance of having its first 11-win season in program history that would be an amazing feat for a program who less won just one game as recently as 2010.

They are currently 10-2 and their only two losses came against UCF, but they have a solid win over Power Five member UCLA. They’ve dominating everyone else in the AAC and won the AAC West.

Everyone wants to end the season on a high note and how great would it be for Memphis to beat their second Power Five opponent of the season? They also have a great advantage playing in the Auto Zone Liberty Bowl because it is a home game for them. That means all of their fans don’t have to make adjustments to their weekly rituals.
