4. Baker Mayfield will boost his 2018 NFL Draft stock

Baker Mayfield has already done plenty to make his name well known to NFL scouts. The 2017 Heisman winner is on pace to break the FBS career record for passing efficiency, after completing five out of every seven passes in 2017. Mayfield threw for more than 4300 yards and 41 touchdowns over the course of another Big 12 championship season.

He had a huge game in Columbus against the Buckeyes that ultimately served as an elimination game in the College Football Playoff race. Mayfield threw for fewer than 250 yards just once in the 2017 regular season, in the Big 12 championship game rematch against TCU. (He “just” racked up 243 yards on 15-of-23 passing, threw four touchdowns, and added 65 rushing yards while taking a seat in the second half.)

Yet when it comes to the players most talked about in the race to land with a professional team in the 2018 NFL Draft, Mayfield is never talked about in the discussion for first-round selections. Instead, less decorated players like Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, and Josh Allen are considered safer bets at quarterback.

All Mayfield does is win and put up efficient numbers while leading the Sooners to victory. Against a Georgia defense that allows only 158 passing yards per game, Mayfield will put together a masterpiece of a game. Look for the Sooners star to throw for 350 or more yards on 67 percent passing with three touchdowns. He might even rush for another along the way.
