2. Memphis fans will miss Ferguson and Miller

All season seniors Riley Ferguson and Anthony Miller have been the heartbeat of the Memphis offense. Today it didn’t workout as great as the tandem would have like, but they still finished with a 10-3 record. They played a tough Iowa State team who held them in check pretty much all afternoon something that people who have watched this team all season aren’t used to.

Ferguson went 21-for-33 passing for 286 yards and two touchdowns, but he was also sacked six times. While those are good numbers for most players that is way under Ferguson’s season average.

Miller didn’t have a usual Anthony Miller day also he finished with 4 catches for 55 yards and one touchdown. I’ve seen Miller have multiple 100 yard games, but today Iowa State was able to make life difficult for the future NFLer. Iowa State has been known to make it tough on quality opponents and today was no different.

While the season didn’t end the way Memphis and their fans wanted it to they will miss the consistent play of these two. Both players have a strong chance to play on Sunday’s next year so a team who won 10 games this season will have a new quarterback and go to receiver next season.
