The Dawgs came out of nowhere to claim the 2017 SEC Championship over quarterback Jarrett Stidham and the Auburn Tigers. UGA then made a huge comeback to defeat the Sooners in the Playoff Semifinals to get a matchup with the Crimson Tide in the National Championship.

Yet, this Georgia squad looks much different from many anticipated it to be at this point. Sophomore quarterback Jacob Eason was supposed to lead the Dawgs to the next level, not freshman quarterback Jake Fromm.

But, Fromm now looks to be a Heisman contender in 2018, and UGA’s running back duo is the best in the nation, if not one of the best of any team on this list. Chubb and Michel shredded the Sooners run defense, including the game-winning touchdown run in overtime.

The Alabama defense is going to get a real test. And, even though both UGA and Alabama play in the SEC, they did not meet during the regular season. But, both teams did lose to Auburn, at one point or another.
