7. UCF 62, Memphis 55 (OT) | December 2nd

Championship weekend always brings great drama and intensity to the college football world and the American Athletic Conference championship game was no exception to that. The game pitted the undefeated Knights of UCF, led by coach Scott Frost and the deadly backfield duo of quarterback McKenzie Milton and running back Adrian Killins Jr., against the Memphis Tigers under coach Mike Norvell, led by the quarterback-receiver duo of Riley Ferguson and Anthony Miller. Then as advertised, both teams went out and score points by the boat load.

The two teams combined for 96 points at the end of regulation with score tied at 48 all. UCF gave the ball to Memphis for the first overtime, but the Tigers punched it in quickly on a two play drive with a touchdown pass from Ferguson to Miller. The Knights would not go quietly as they answered with a two-yard touchdown run from Adrian Killins Jr.

UCF then took the ball for the first possession of double overtime and had Otis Anderson punch in a one-yeard touchdown to give the Knights a 62-55 advantage. Memphis had one more shot to send the game into triple overtime, but UCF defensive back Tre Neal ended the Tigers upset bid once and for all:

UCF completed their second perfect season in school history and took down the mighty Auburn Tigers in the Chik-fil-a Peach Bowl en route to their self-proclaimed “national championship”.
