2. Quarterback, Zeb Noland (6-foot-2, 222lbs)

Zeb Noland is in line to replace Kyle Kempt as the Cyclones quarterback unless Kempt is granted a sixth-year of eligibility. The quarterback from Georgia played at a high level in two important games for the Cyclones. Noland relieved Kempt after an injury versus Oklahoma State and started against Baylor. Noland and the Cyclone offense didn’t miss a beat.

Noland completed 36 of 66 passes on the year for 533 yards and two touchdowns with only one interception. Having this experience will be huge for him going forward. Iowa State will more than likely to bring in a graduate transfer to compete for the job but Noland has the tools to be the guy.

The redshirt sophomore has the ability to be a very successful quarterback and arm strength that is through the roof. Add in the playmakers he will have alongside him and Noland has the potential to be a 3,000 yard passer. This coming season should be a big year for Noland as he should excel in Tom Manning’s offense for the Cyclones.
