National Signing Day: Where are the last 10 No. 1 overall prospects now?
By Dana Becker
The name Robert Nkemdiche is one that will live in the lore of Ole Miss football for years to come.
And it doesn’t have anything to do with him being a standout on the field.
Nkemdiche signed with the Rebels out of Georgia as a man-child looking to explode on the college football scene. Standing 6-5 and weighing 260 pounds, he was expected to take over and lead Ole Miss to glory days for years to come.
Instead, Nkemdiche left after his junior season to be a first round pick of the Arizona Cardinals. During his time with the Rebels, he made 81 total tackles over three seasons, including 16 for loss and six sacks.
Nkemdiche’s decision to depart early came in part because of an incident involving marijuana that led to his suspension and missing the 2016 Sugar Bowl. There was also an incident in which he fell from a window of a hotel in Atlanta.
With the Cardinals, Nkemdiche has made 12 tackles, forced a fumble and scored a defensive touchdown over the past two seasons.
