National Signing Day: Where are the last 10 No. 1 overall prospects now?
By Dana Becker
At times, Ronald Powell looked like the type of recruit who earned the No. 1 overall ranking.
As a freshman with Florida in 2010, Powell played in 13 games, making 25 tackles with 2.5 being for loss and a sack.
He followed that up the following season with 32 tackles, nine of which were for loss, and six sacks.
Two torn ACLs later left Powell searching for that speed and athleticism on the field. He returned to the field in 2013, recording seven tackles for loss and four sacks before declaring for the NFL Draft where the New Orleans Saints selected him in the fifth round.
His NFL career never took off, as he made just two career tackles over four seasons with the Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks.
Powell is currently listed as a free agent.
