Wisconsin Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2018
The Badgers have been the Cornhuskers kryptonite since joining the Big Ten in 2011, winning just once against their newfound division rivals. When the Huskers first joined, both the Badgers and them were highly ranked teams and even met in the Big Ten Championship once before realignments put them in the same division.
Today, Nebraska is onto their third coach in three years and is coming off one of their worst seasons in a long time as they failed to make a bowl game.
The Big Ten is much more entertaining when both Nebraska and Wisconsin are good and under new head coach Scott Frost, it should not be long until the Cornhuskers are competing for conference championships again. The recruiting classes have been there for Nebraska, now they just need to have that talent and coaching staff execute on the football field.
And of course, the Wisconsin Badgers’ playoff and national prominence is also dependent on the strength of the Big Ten, particularly their conference. It might not be this upcoming season or the following, but pretty soon the Huskers will be back in the thick of things. Until then, the Badgers coast to a somewhat easy victory at home against their division rival.
Running back Jonathan Taylor ran for 200-plus against the Cornhuskers last season. Do not be surprised if he does it again at home in 2018.
Final Score: Nebraska 16, Wisconsin 31 (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten)
