Expectations will be riding high again for the Michigan Wolverines in 2018 as the team returns a near full squad from an 8-5 team in 2017. The Wolverines had somewhat of a disappointing season in 2017, some of which was caused by injuries- while the other reasoning being the inexperience all throughout the team.

The Wolverines are projected by many to begin the year as a top-10 team and a favorite to make it to Indianapolis and the Big Ten Championship in December.

Michigan fell 24-10 to the Badgers in Madison this past year and will welcome them into Ann Arbor for the second time in three years, despite being in separate divisions. This will likely be the Badgers first ranked opponent of the season and will look to avenge their 2016 road loss at the Wolverines, when they fell to then No. 3 Michigan 14-7.

While it is incredibly difficult to win a road game in conference play and many are already hopping on the Wolverines bandwagon for next year, the Badgers will enter this game as the more experienced and accomplished team, believe it or not. Quarterback Alex Hornibrook will be much improved and poised than he did two seasons ago when he made the start as a true freshman.

Defenses will surely highlight this game in October, but both squads have big time playmakers on their roster and will look to gain an advantage with a timely play. Wisconsin’s experience and the return of wide receiver Quintez Cephus next season will prove to be huge in this one, but the difference may come down to the kicking game as these teams hold perhaps the two best kickers in the conference.

Final Score: Wisconsin 23, Michigan 21 (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten)
