Penn State Football: Way too early game-by-game predictions for 2018
By Shane Lunnen
It was not a good first season for head coach Tom Allen and his Hoosiers. They went 5-7, only winning two conference games and losing to rival Purdue for the first time since the 2012 season. Allen will be replacing several players at key areas on both sides of the ball so increasing the win total in 2018 will be a challenge.
Quarterback Peyton Ramsey returns after a so so freshman campaign. He showed he could be a good quarterback at times, but he is still raw. He also will not have wide receiver Simmie Cobbs to throw to as he is off to the NFL. There is a ton to replace on defense for the Hoosiers, especially on the back end with the linebackers and secondary. There is a lot of talent, but unproven talent.
It could be a rough day for the Hoosiers at home. Ramsey will throw two interceptions in the first half, one being returned for a touchdown by cornerback Amani Oruwariye. Running back Miles Sanders eats away at the Hoosier defense for 150 yards and two scores while Trace McSorley throws for a couple of scores as well. Penn State is clicking now as they head back home.
