A November matchup that could have Big Ten title game implications faces the Hawkeyes as they return to Iowa City and face Northwestern. The Wildcats won last year’s matchup 17-10 in overtime.

The Wildcats surprised many a year ago and had a very successful season, finishing 10-3 with a win in the Music City Bowl over Kentucky. Quarterback Clayton Thorson has been the catalyst for Northwestern since 2015, but Thorson suffered a serious knee injury in the bowl game, which could put his senior season into question. The Wildcats also will replace super back Justin Jackson due to graduation.

Since Pat Fitzgerald‘s promotion to head coach in 2006, this series has been hotly contested, mainly due to Fitzgerald’s disdain for Iowa rooting back to his playing days. The Wildcats have won the last two games against Iowa and are looking to go for three in a row for sure.

The Wildcats will come into Iowa City with bad intentions, but November football in Kinnick Stadium when it’s cold, I just do not see Iowa losing this kind of game.

Final Score: Northwestern 17, Iowa 27 (8-2)
