2. Trevor Downing, Offensive Line

Trevor Downing is currently enrolled for the spring semester after completing his high school career at Creston High School. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive lineman chose Iowa State over Iowa, Kansas State, Missouri and Minnesota. Downing came to Iowa State as the 33rd ranked guard in America and fourth ranked prospect in Iowa.

Downing is another prospect who could benefit from being an early enrollee. Being in a division one weight room for seven months before fall camp will be crucial in his chance at playing as a freshman. Plus being in spring practices and working on technique with other offensive lineman all summer will put him that much farther ahead of the pack.

Downing has the potential to add depth to the Iowa State offensive line but will have to develop much more physically. The sky is the limit for Downing and if he is not a huge contributor this year, anticipate big things in the future.
