3. Mikey Grandy, 3-star OT

There is no doubt one of the biggest problems with the Longhorns last season was their inconsistency along the offensive line. They ranked 103rd in the nation in sacks allowed, giving up 34 sacks on the season and averaging over two and half given up per game. The problems up front led to the offense being lackluster. The Longhorns are hoping the line can improve this year with the help of Mikey Grandy.

Usually it takes an offensive lineman a couple years in a college system to be ready to make an impact. With Grandy being a JUCO transfer, the staff is hoping for an immediate impact. Out of the four lineman signed to this year’s class, Grandy is the only one over 300 pounds. The California product was at the College of San Mateo last year and chose Texas over staying in-state at UCLA.

Not only is Grandy an early enrollee, he only spent one season in junior college. Originally he signed with San Jose State but opted for junior college instead. Now he will have four years to spend his three years of eligibility left. With being physically ready to play as a sophomore, Grandy has an excellent chance to play left tackle to replace the departed Connor Williams.
