Florida State Football: Five 2018 commits that will have an instant impact
1. Robert Cooper, Defensive Tackle
Georgia and Georgia Tech lost a good one. Atlanta, GA native Robert Cooper first committed to Florida State in June of 2016 after attending a Jimbo Fisher football camp, but he made his commitment official on Dec. 20.
Cooper is a defensive tackle from South Gwinnett high school. Cooper is the No. 4 defensive tackle in the 2018 recruiting class, the No. 96 overall recruit and the No. 13 player from the state of Georgia. He has a reputation of being an immovable object–the coaches at his high school claim that it generally took two men to take him down. Indeed, his nickname at his high school is “Trench Monster”. The defensive tackle amassed 42 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, and two sacks as a senior.
The guy is immense. He is currently 6-foot-2 and 377 pounds, and that’s assuming he doesn’t bulk up in training.

His sheer size would be a gift to the ‘Noles, but he also has power and speed. For a man of his size, Cooper is very quick and agile. Cooper is great against double teams and is a beast powering through the offensive line.
