Texas A&M Football: 5 commits who’ll have an instant impact in 2018
Possibly the most publicized and praised commit for the Aggies in this recruiting cycle is four-star safety and Yoakum, TX, product Jordan Moore. No time is better than now for the Aggies to add a talented safety to the mix in the secondary.
Texas A&M loses their defensive leader, and versatile safety Armani Watts. The ballhawking defender actually won the Aggies a key SEC contest that in overtime against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Watts dove across the endzone to intercept Austin Allen and clinch the win for the maroon and white.
The departure of Watts to the NFL leaves a gaping hole in the Aggies’ secondary. And, Watts is not the only major loss among the defensive backs. Former transfer cornerback Priest Willis is also out of eligibility following the 2017 season.
Of all the incoming Aggies freshmen for 2018, Moore is most likely to get some early playing time, and even win a starting job. He’ll compete with rising sophomores Keldrick Carper, Ikenna Okeke and redshirt sophomore Larry Pryor for the role to replace the massive shoes left by Watts.
