Jacob Copeland, a 4-star recruit from Escambia High School in Florida, is the third highest rated uncommitted wide receiver in the 2018 class. He’s considering Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

Alabama lost Calvin Ridley to the NFL Draft. The Crimson Tide have a host of young playmakers waiting in the wings, but someone is going to have to step in and fill the void. Florida wide receiver Jacob Copeland stacks up favorably with Ridley – both weigh roughly 190 pounds and stand 6-feet tall. Quick, strong and able to stretch the field, Copeland would fit in nicely with the Alabama offense.

Copeland’s recruitment is a testament to the power of the Alabama brand that Nick Saban has built in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide offered Copeland in May 2016, but were never though to be one of the main contenders for Copeland’s services. Yet even through the extending recruitment, Saban has pulled even with Dan Mullen at Florida in the race for his signature on National Signing Day.
