James Washington. 14. player. 49. . WR. Oklahoma State

The injury to quarterback Aaron Rodgers derailed Green Bay Packers’ 2017 season. Backup Brett Hundley was tasked with the impossible task of taking over for a Super Bowl MVP midway through the year and he wasn’t able to right the ship.

What Hundley’s stint as the starter did reveal, however, was the need for more weapons in the Packers’ receiving corps. The Packers’ have a “who’s who” on their wide receiver depth chart with the likes of Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. With Cobb rumored to be a cap casualty and limited production from Nelson apart from Rodgers, it’s time for Green Bay to bring in another playmaker.

James Washington, the former Oklahoma State standout, had the benefit of playing with Mason Rudolph. He put up a ridiculous 1,549 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior season in Stillwater. If he can do that with Rudolph just imagine how dangerous he’ll be with Rodgers throwing him the ball.

Washington is known for his sure hands as well as his ability to stretch the field. Although the route tree in a spread offense like Oklahoma State’s is limited he’d be landing in a place with plenty of capable veterans able to get him up to speed.
