Defensive end Caleb Tannor from Lithonia, Georgia is more likely than not headed out of state to play his college ball. The 4-star recruit has an offer from Georgia, but has a better chance at landing at Auburn, Nebraska or Florida. The Tigers looked to be in command of his recruitment in early January, but a late push from Scott Frost and the Huskers promises to make this a freeze-frame finish.
The addition of Tannor is of added important for the Tiger given the state of their pass rush entering 2018. Of all the departing players that will be entering the NFL Draft, Auburn is going to miss defensive end Jeff Holland the most. He racked up 9.5 sacks last season, more than doubling that of the next highest Tiger, Deshaun Davis who had four.
Tannor isn’t going to take over the SEC in year one, but his prowess as an edge rusher is highly regarded. Having him waiting in the wings as a third down specialists would keep the rest of the front seven fresh and boost the effectiveness of the entire unit.

Auburn is going to be fine with their class as is, but adding a few more impact players on National Signing Day could put them over the top. At the very least they’ll look to maintain their top 10 class once the dust has settled on Wednesday.
