You don’t often see Clemson going after three-star recruits these days, but don’t let the rankings fool you, Trevon Flowers could be a star at the next level. Sometimes it’s the three-star prospects that end up excelling in the NFL as well.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound safety from Tucker, Ga., holds just five offers as he’s flown completely under the radar. He’s going to be a strong last-second addition to whoever adds him on National Signing Day, but you don’t often see a program like Clemson offer a kid with just a handful of offers.
The Tigers extended their offer on Jan. 31 and it came during his official visit. He’s since visited Tennessee officially and he also took a trip to Kentucky, but the Wildcats didn’t extend an offer. The recruitment for Flowers looks to be down to Clemson and Tennessee with the Tigers in the slight lead.
Only Appalachian State, Illinois and Western Kentucky have offered him outside of Clemson and Tennessee and that’s quite surprising when you watch his highlight reel.
Flowers is listed as the No. 697 overall recruit and 58th-best safety in the class from the talent-ridden state of Georgia, according to 247Sports.
