Giving Jawon Pass weapons to throw to

It seems like a guarantee at this point that Pass takes the torch as Louisville’s starting quarterback in 2018. He’ll have enormous shoes to fill in a quarterback that put up video game like stats in the past two seasons, and won a Heisman in one of those.

However, it’s up to Petrino to put the targets around Pass that he’ll need to succeed. Something Jackson lacked for the bulk of his college career is the surrounding talent to take the Cardinals to the next level. That’s an aspect that the Cardinals addressed in this class, especially at wide receiver.

Three wide receivers and one tight end were added that can help build this offense in the next two years. There’s also a few athletes that Louisville hauled in that can play at the receiver spot. Three-star Rancho Verde High School product Manuel Allen is a receiver that is committed to the Cardinals, but they need to follow through on signing during NSD.

All these signs point toward a continuously bright future for the Cardinals in the ACC. Six straight seasons of at least eight wins, dating back to the days of Charlie Strong as head coach, could be a streak that is kept alive despite a ton of roster turnover for Louisville.
