Iowa State’s final game of the regular season just so happens to be their annual matchup with rival Kansas State in the game affectionately known as “Farmaggedon”. The Wildcats broke the Cyclones heart’s a year ago, winning on the final play of the game in a 20-19 ballgame.

All signs appear to point to Bill Snyder returning for another season in Manhattan and he has quite the dilemma on his hands.Depending on whether 2016 starter Jesse Ertz gets a sixth-year, he will likely battle for the starting job along with sophomore Skylar Thompson, who really came on strong at the end of 2017. The Wildcats also return leading rusher Alex Barnes and leading receiver Byron Pringle.

It’s been a long time since Iowa State has defeated the Wildcats (2007 to be exact) and they will have plenty of revenge on their minds when ol’ Bill Snyder leads his posse into Ames. This year, however, will be the year that streak is broken. The Cyclones finish the regular season with nine wins, tying the school record.

Final Score: Kansas State 23, Iowa State 24

A 9-3 regular season would be a huge milestone in the Iowa State program as they have only done it once before in 2000 when Dan McCarney roamed the sidelines in Jack Trice. It’s an exciting time to be a Cyclone football fan and this year will prove that.
